All Star Awards Gala
The Star Awards Gala is a special event that recognizes individuals in the community who may not otherwise be celebrated for their achievements, gifts, and talents. Held at the Oakville Conference Centre in the Fall of 2026, this gala ensures everyone is treated like a VIP. The ceremony shines a spotlight on the talents and contributions of those with developmental and/or physical challenges.

Event Overview
Organizers and Support
It was put together by Oakville resident and Special Olympian James Montague. James, together with his parents, Steve and Joanne, organized the gala with support from Community Living Oakville and Special Oakville. Over the years, the event has grown significantly with an expected attendance in 2026 of over 300 people. The Star Awards Gala relies heavily on community support. With big plans for 2026, James is seeking sponsors to help make this event a success. If your company is interested in stepping up, please reach out to James for a sponsorship package.
Purpose & Recognition
The ceremony recognizes the talents and contributions of those in the community with developmental and/or physical challenges. It’s an evening dedicated to celebrating individuals who deserve acknowledgment for their unique abilities and efforts.
Vision and Impact
James wanted to create an event similar to the Oscars for people who might not otherwise be recognized. He felt that this type of evening develops confidence, pride and social interaction - qualities that are important for people who face challenges in their day-to-day lives.
